Anti-Bullying Week began with Odd Socks Day on Monday 11th November. Throughout the week, classes took part in various activities. Some students learned about the different types of bullying, its consequences, and where to go for help, while others focused on understanding diversity and the importance of kindness. On Wednesday 13th November as part of World Kindness Day, each class completed a random act of kindness. We also created anti-bullying posters, which are now proudly displayed throughout the school.

The Pines Ambassadors helped raise money for Children in Need this year by inviting pupils to dress up in spotty clothes. Thanks to everyone’s support, we raised a total of £74.40.

The Pines celebrated their first-ever MFL day on October 21st, focusing on France. Each class engaged in activities inspired by French culture, and students had the chance to visit a French-themed sensory experience. Pupils were also invited to wear red, white, or blue. As part of the celebration, every student decorated a lolly stick, which were then used to create a stunning Eiffel Tower display. Isn’t it amazing?

We were fortunate to open our own Pines bookshop this term, with generous support from The Children’s Book Project, who kindly donated two books for each pupil. We set up the bookshop so that students could visit and choose their books. Each pupil received two tokens, which they could exchange for books of their choice. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Some of our Secondary students volunteered to help out in the bookshop, assisting with tasks like restocking, keeping the space tidy, and exchanging tokens for books.

World Book Day

As a school we set up an amazing Art Gallery as part of a joint activity with our co-operative trust schools.

Pupils at The Pines were invited to dress up as their favourite book character or dress in non-uniform and bring a favourite book.

Each class created a beautiful piece of art work linked to their chosen text. On Thursday we had an art gallery in the school hall where all of our amazing work was displayed. We invited parents to come in and have a look at the fabulous work we had done.
