We have had another busy week in the Forest. On Monday Early Years explored Autumn leaves and decorated magic wands. Green Group wondered if any hedgehogs live in the Forest. They felt prickly objects, decorated a hedgehog and then left some food out by the wildlife camera to see if any hedgehogs would visit. We didn’t see a hedgehog but we did see a cheeky cat and a squirrel. Lots of animals have been visiting the Forest this week. We found a shiny ladybird on one of our logs, a beautiful caterpillar by the digging pit who will become a ‘Pale Tussock Moth’ and on Wednesday a Chaffinch flew under the tarp landed at Miss Rahman’s feet and then sat and watched us from the nearest tree. All groups have been using Autumn colours to make beautiful Autumn pictures decorating leaves and tree shapes using natural items.
